Welcome to the first BrewoVision Homebrew Competition 2025.

NOTE THAT CATEGORY WINNERS WILL BE ASKED TO SEND ANOTHER 10 BOTTLES TO A COLLECTION POINT IN LONDON FOR THE FINALS ON 04/10/25

This is the preliminary competition for England, Wales and Northern Ireland where homebrewers from different regions/clubs across Europe will compete for the crown of European champion.

Winners of each category will progress to compete against regions and homebrew clubs across Europe. The finals will be held a month later on 4 October 2025 organised online by the Panomaju homebrew club in Finland where a champion region/club will be crowned European champion for 2025.

Details of the final can be found below in the Info->Circuit Qualification section. We will gather socially to choose our favourites.

Winners of each category will be asked to provide a further 10 bottles of the same beer to be sent to the other regions/clubs participating. Other regions for 2025 are Scotland, Republic of Ireland, Finland, Poland and Croatia. Each region/club will receive 2 bottles from each category used to decide the European winner. If the winner cannot provide a further 10 bottles, then the 2nd place winner in that category will be asked, and so on.

There are 5 categories: 1)Pale European Lager, 2)Pale Belgian Beer, 3)IPA, 4)Dark Strong Ales and 5)Sour beers.

The organisers have asked that the five category winners are all different entrants, therefore if one entrant wins more than one category, then they will be asked which winning beer to concede to the 2nd in place to be sent to the finals.

Score sheets and written feedback are provided on each entry. Rosettes are awarded in each of 5 categories.

This competition is open to any amateur homebrewer age 18 or older and living in and/or a member of a homebrew club located in England, Wales or Northern Ireland.

All mailed entries must be received at the mailing location by the shipping deadline - please allow for shipping time.

All entries will be picked up from drop-off locations the day of the drop-off deadline.

All entries must be handcrafted products, containing ingredients available to the general public, and made using private equipment by hobbyist brewers (i.e., no use of commercial facilities or Brew on Premises operations, supplies, etc.).

The competition organizers are not responsible for mis-categorised entries, mailed entries that are not received by the entry deadline, or entries that arrived damaged.

Qualified judging of all entries is the primary goal of our event. Judges will evaluate and score each entry. The average of the scores will rank each entry in its category. Each flight will have at least one BJCP judge.

The competition committee reserves the right to combine overall style categories based on number of entries. All possible effort will be made to combine similar styles. All brews in combined categories will be judged according to the style they were originally entered in.

The Best of Category judging will be determined by a Best of Category panel based on a second judging of the top winners, similar to a mini-BOS format. There will be no Best of Show for this preliminary competition.

Bottles will not be returned to entrants.

The schedule

  • The event is open to all and starts at noon (12:00). Anyone can help to judge, but can just stay and watch if they want.
  • There are 5 categories with 5 entries, each from different regions, each. We need to provide a blindly judged ranking for each category, but regions and styles will be known. We cannot vote for our our region.
  • Winning entries from our preliminaries and other countries will be judged in 5 X mini-bos style formats starting at 14:00. We'll allocate those judging depending on how many people we get and who is willing.
  • The Panomaju final presentation is at 17:00 (19:00 Finnish time), so we’ll need to send them our rankings per category around 16:00 for them to process.
  • We all watch the finals at 17:00 with a mini festival where we can then all sample the remaining beers.

And stay at Beermerchants for drinks
